Following the launch of Grow PNG Gender Mainstreaming and Empowerment Program in 2022, the Gender Working Group was established in August 2023. The working group comprises of key partners and stakeholders such as farmers, landowners, agribusiness, government and civil society groups, and those involved in the agri food system. 
The Gender or GED Working Group will serve as a forum for conversation and debate among relevant partners, particularly farmers, landowners, and agribusiness, regarding the challenges and concerns that affect women who depend on agriculture for a living. 
Its Objective is to identify challenges and opportunities and to propose practical solutions to effectively champion the work of women in the agriculture food system, and other aspects of farmer livelihoods such as health, education and poverty etc.
